School Experience Days

Bishop Rawstorne, lead school of the Red Rose Alliance, is part of the ‘Get Into Teaching’ School Experience Programme (SEP), which gives prospective applicants for initial teacher training (ITT) the opportunity to spend one or more observation days in school to gain an insight into the role and responsibilities of a teacher. Our SEP targets high-quality graduates and undergraduates who are interested in teaching: English, maths, biology, physics, geography, chemistry, D and T, modern foreign languages (German and French), music, RE, PE, history and computing.

Eligible enquirers - who have a degree and who have not yet applied for or accepted a place with another ITT provider - are offered an initial 1-day school experience visit which provides the opportunity to observe four lessons, subject specific where possible. Our Initial Teacher Training Lead will talk more about the programme on offer and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the programme and teaching profession. Additionally, there may be the chance to interact with students and get involved in classroom activities.

Further details of the School Experience Programme are available from the Department of Education’s Get into Teaching website. Please contact us or visit the website link below to register your interest:
